In New Zealand, there is a growing trend towards the recognition of 'Build-to-Rent' housing, which aims to supply safe, quality, and affordable rental housing domestically. This emerging sector of long-term rental housing development is garnering increased attention from overseas investors.

Amidst this trend, development firm Simplicity Living has launched a large-scale program for rental housing construction across Auckland. The company plans to construct 10,000 new rental homes over the next decade.

Shane Briley, CEO of Simplicity Living, emphasized the necessity for swift action, stating, "With the ongoing increase in demand for rental housing, we need to respond quickly." He further added, "Considering that there are more than six people waiting for each apartment, the potential of the rental housing market is significant."

The New Zealand government also backs this trend, recently announcing legislation to make it easier for overseas investors to participate in the development of rental apartments. Housing Minister Chris Bishop explained, "This is aimed at increasing new housing supply, enabling foreign investors to contribute to housing provision in New Zealand."

Additionally, Kiwi Property Group has announced plans for a large-scale apartment construction in Sylvia Park, drawing significant interest among tenants. Shelley Jenkins, Asset Manager at Kiwi Property Group, expressed optimism, stating, "This project will offer highly favorable propositions to tenants."

New Zealand's rental housing market is diversifying and showing growth, with expectations for increased investment influx through the overhaul of overseas investment laws.

뉴질랜드에서는 최근 '빌트 투 렌트(Build-to-rent)' 주택이 점차적으로 주목받고 있는 추세다. 이는 국내에서 안전하고 저렴한 품질의 임대주택을 공급하는데 목표를 두고 있는 장기 임대 주택 개발의 새로운 유형으로, 이에 따라 해외 투자자들의 관심도 높아지고 있다.

이 같은 추세 속에서 개발업체인 심플리시티 리빙(Simplicity Living)은 오클랜드 전역에서 대규모 임대주택 건설 프로그램을 추진 중이다. 이 회사는 향후 10년 동안 10,000채의 새로운 임대 주택을 건설할 계획을 세우고 있다.

심플리시티 리빙의 대표인 셰인 브릴리는 "임대주택 수요가 계속해서 높아지고 있기 때문에 우리는 빠르게 대응해야 한다"며 이같이 설명했다. 또한, "한 채의 아파트마다 여섯 명 이상의 사람이 대기하고 있는 현실을 고려할 때, 임대주택 시장의 잠재력은 아주 크다"고 덧붙였다.

뉴질랜드 정부 역시 이러한 동향을 지지하고 있으며, 최근 해외 투자자들이 임대형 아파트 개발에 보다 쉽게 투자할 수 있도록 하는 법안을 발표했다. 이에 대해 크리스 비숍 주택장관은 "이는 새로운 주택 공급을 위한 것으로, 외국인 투자자들이 뉴질랜드에서 주택 공급에 기여할 수 있도록 돕는 조치"라고 설명했다.

또한, 키위 프로퍼티 그룹도 실비아 파크에 대규모 아파트 건설을 계획하고 있는데, 이로 인해 임차인들 사이에서 큰 관심이 모아지고 있다. 이에 대해 키위 프로퍼티 그룹의 셸리 젠킨은 "이번 프로젝트는 임차인들에게 매우 유리한 제안일 것"이라며 기대를 나타냈다.

뉴질랜드의 임대주택 시장은 더욱 다양화되고 성장세를 보이고 있으며, 해외 투자법의 개편을 통해 더 많은 투자 유치가 기대된다.
