Costco Plans to Build Second Store in Drury, New Zealand
Retail giant Costco Wholesale is set to open its second store in New Zealand. While the exact location has not been disclosed, it has been revealed that construction is already underway in Drury, south of Auckland.
After Christchurch Rolleston mentioned it as a potential site on April 27, a new social media fan page called "Costco Drury Community" emerged, sharing photos of the location for the second store.
Kiwi Property Group is currently undertaking construction in the Drury area, which is positioned 45 minutes away from the central Auckland. This location is slated to become a new satellite city of Napier's size, accommodating the growth of Auckland. It is currently in the early stages of construction.
New Zealand plans to invest millions of dollars in a 53.5-hectare site to create a city hub capable of accommodating Auckland's growth. Once the urban zone is completed, it will feature around 7,000 homes capable of housing approximately 19,000 people, along with the construction of large shopping malls, primary and secondary schools, hospitals, and more. The area is currently in its third year of construction.

코스트코 홀세일이 뉴질랜드에 두 번째 매장을 오픈하기로 한 것으로 나타났다. 아직 건설 장소는 공개되지 않았지만, 오클랜드 남부의 두루리(Drury)에 이미 건설이 진행 중인 것으로 알려졌다.
2022년 4월 27일에 크라이스쳐치 롤스톤이 가능성 있는 장소로 언급한 이후, 코스트코 두루리(Drury) 커뮤니티라는 새로운 소셜 미디어 팬 페이지가 형성되었으며, 두 번째 매장의 장소 사진을 공개했다.
두루리(Drury) 지역에서는 Kiwi Property Group이 토목공사를 진행 중이며, 이 지역은 오클랜드 중심부에서 45분 거리에 위치해 있어 네이피어 도시 크기의 새로운 위성 도시가 들어설 예정이다. 현재 건설 초기 단계에 있다고 밝혔다.
뉴질랜드는 오클랜드의 성장을 수용할 수 있는 도시 허브를 조성하기 위해 53.5헥타르 부지에 수억 달러를 투자할 계획이다. 도시 구역이 완료되면 약 19,000명을 수용할 수 있는 7000채의 주택과 함께 대형 쇼핑몰, 초등학교, 중학교, 병원 등이 건설될 예정이며, 현재 3년째 토목공사가 진행 중인 지역이다.
