Intensifying Competition in Auckland Real Estate Market: Remuera and Hauraki Heights in Focus
According to CoreLogic real estate data, a property at 120 Victoria Ave in Auckland's Remuera area was recently sold for $23.8 million in July, marking the highest transaction of the year. Additionally, Hauraki Heights reported a median value of $3.161 million, securing its position as the most expensive suburban area.
Commenting on the real estate market, Calvin Davidson from CoreLogic mentioned that the positive sentiment has been sustained since the beginning of the year. However, he pointed out that the likelihood of a rapid surge in sales and price increases is low due to the combination of low rental yields and high mortgage interest rates, even if some investors decide to re-enter the market. Davidson emphasized that there are still favorable opportunities for first-time homebuyers, with the surge in KiwiSaver withdrawals supporting this trend.
