This auction, conducted in a peculiar manner, yielded significant gains for both the seller and the buyer, as stated by Dan Hewes of Harcourts Pukekohe, the auctioneer. The property, located on Karisbrook Crescent in Papakura, underwent the auction proceedings last Saturday.
In an interview with reporters following the auction, Dan Hewes remarked, "The outcome this time was a win-win for both the seller and the buyer," explaining, "The house sold for $827,000, with a significant number of participants engaging in the auction." Dan Hewes further added that this auction marked the first no-reserve auction he had encountered in his 33 years in the real estate industry.

By opting not to set a reserve price and proceeding with the auction, the seller managed to attract more interest in the market. The sale price at this auction fell just below the property's 2021 CV of $850,000.
